# Harbor files for an Agentic Commerce ETF that may hold digital assets

The same filing also registers an AI software fund, with blank tickers and blank advisory fees for both, and the shares cannot be sold until the registration is effective.

Harbor ETF Trust filed a preliminary prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 13 for an Agentic Commerce ETF that may hold digital assets as well as stocks.

The same document registers an AI Software Beneficiaries ETF. The shares cannot be sold until the registration is effective.

## The 80% policy includes digital assets

The Agentic Commerce ETF would be actively managed. Under normal circumstances it would put at least **80%** of its net assets into what the prospectus calls Agentic Commerce Investments.

Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc., the adviser, defines that bucket as two kinds of holdings. One is securities of companies that derive, or are expected to derive, significant revenues or other economic benefits from AI agents acting for consumers and businesses, and from the payments, security and technology infrastructure around those transactions. The other is "investments that provide exposure to digital assets connected to agentic commerce."

That clause would let crypto exposure count toward the 80% alongside company stocks. The fund would be registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, the statute for ordinary stock and bond funds. The prospectus calls that exposure "digital assets," and the same passage names cryptocurrency and digital asset platforms along with retailers, payment companies and software firms.

The AI Software Beneficiaries ETF would be actively managed as well, and it would use the same 80% test. It would own software companies Harbor Capital Advisors believes are positioned to benefit as AI adoption grows.

The filing names NYSE Arca as the exchange for both. Both ticker symbols are blank, and the advisory fee each would pay Harbor Capital Advisors is blank.

Harbor elected to have the registration become effective 75 days after the Oct. 13 filing, which would be late December. The prospectus says the shares would be offered as soon as practicable after that date, and that the information in it is not complete and may be changed. A proposed effective date is not a listing.

Harbor filed this kind of prospectus on May 22 for five funds tied to individual AI labs. Those funds listed on Aug. 12.

The agentic AI fund already on the market owns companies. SoFi Agentic AI ETF AGIQ tracks the BITA US Agentic AI Select Index. It listed on Sept. 2, 2025, has an expense ratio of 0.69%, and held $12.5 million as of Oct. 15.

## A broad index holds the assets

iShares Future AI Beneficiaries ETF AIBF listed on Sept. 22 and held **$232.7 million** as of Oct. 15, three weeks later. Its expense ratio is 0.40%.

It tracks the Morningstar US Artificial Intelligence Beneficiaries Select Index: U.S. companies that may benefit from AI, mainly through cost savings. Walmart and Costco are its largest holdings.

Chart: **Walmart** and Costco hold AIBF's largest weights

The five funds Harbor listed on Aug. 12 together held **$38.4 million** as of Oct. 16, two months after listing. Harbor's Anthropic AI Lab Ecosystem ETF ANTW held $26.2 million of that. Each of the five has an expense ratio of 0.59%.

"I believe 2026 is the year AI migrated from a major theme to its own asset class," Kristof Gleich, president and chief investment officer of Harbor Capital Advisors, said in the firm's Aug. 13 announcement of those lab funds. "The marketplace and investors are demanding different tools to get more precise exposures to distinct parts of the AI asset class."

Harbor AI Inflection Strategy ETF EPAI, Harbor's broader AI fund, listed on Dec. 17, 2025. It held $5.2 million as of Oct. 16, ten months after listing, and its expense ratio is 0.88%. It looks across the AI economy for companies Harbor Capital Advisors sees as reasonably valued.

The Oct. 13 filing would add two more actively managed AI funds to Harbor's lineup. The beneficiaries fund that holds the assets is a broad index, and its largest holdings are Walmart and Costco.
