# CoinShares to liquidate BTF and DIME on October 21

Holders of two CoinShares crypto funds can sell on Nasdaq through the close on Tuesday, **October 20**. The next morning the shares stop trading, and anyone still on the register is paid cash at net asset value.

The Board of Trustees of CoinShares ETF Trust approved the liquidations on Wednesday, September 16. The Rule 497(e) supplements reached the SEC after Friday's close. They name a Nasdaq fund of CME bitcoin and ether futures, CoinShares Bitcoin and Ether ETF BTF, and a Nasdaq basket of altcoin exchange-traded products, CoinShares Altcoins ETF DIME.

Together the two series hold **$17.3 million**. BTF, which launched on October 21, 2021, has **$16 million** in assets and a 1.27% expense ratio. It closed Friday at $22.85, against a 52-week high of $97.10. DIME, which began trading on Nasdaq on October 7, 2025, has **$1.3 million**. The board voted to close it before the fund's first anniversary.

Shareholders do not have to act to receive the cash. Creations stop after the close on October 20. Trading is halted before the open on Wednesday, October 21, and proceeds are currently scheduled to be sent that day. Anyone who sells through the October 20 close may pay ordinary broker fees. Anyone who still holds shares on October 21 is automatically redeemed at net asset value. Once liquidation starts, each fund may move into cash and other holdings that no longer match its objective, and there may be no market in the shares after Nasdaq goes dark. The redemptions generally produce a capital gain or loss.

The supplements leave standing the trust's other live series, CoinShares Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power ETF WGMI, renamed on August 18 from a bitcoin-mining mandate and now required to keep at least 80% of assets in Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power Companies. It holds **$295 million**. CoinShares also sponsors CoinShares Bitcoin ETF BRRR, a **$437 million** fund that holds bitcoin. After October 21, those two remain the firm's U.S. listed funds.
