Constellation Energy rose **12%** on Tuesday after Google agreed to fund upgrades that would get more electricity from reactors the company already runs.

The 20-year contract covers 890 megawatts of new capacity at 11 reactors in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The first of that power is expected in 2028, and Constellation said it would invest more than $4.3 billion. Google and Constellation said 890 megawatts is as much electricity as a large new reactor.

Google also signed a 15-year contract for 2,700 megawatts from Constellation plants that are already producing. That is power on the grid today, not more new capacity.

Talen Energy rose 12%, and Vistra rose 11%. Constellation, Talen and Vistra, the three largest holdings in Virtus's actively managed utility fund, UTES, are about a third of it, and they accounted for most of its 5.6% gain. The large U.S. utility companies, held in XLU, gained 3%.

Chart: Three nuclear operators were UTES's **largest** holdings, and its biggest gainers

VanEck's fund of uranium miners and nuclear utilities, NLR, gained 5.5%. Constellation, its largest holding, contributed the most to that gain. Cameco, a uranium miner in the fund, rose 6.3%.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite closed at records, and the fund holding the S&P 500, SPY, rose 0.55%.

## Genomics stocks reversed

Twist Bioscience fell 19% and 10x Genomics fell 17%. Both hit a 52-week high earlier in the session. Tempus AI fell 14%.

Reports on Tuesday tied Twist's early drop to sales by company insiders, including chief executive Emily Leproust.

ARK's genomics fund, ARKG, fell **8.8%**. Twist, 10x Genomics and Tempus, three of its largest holdings, accounted for more than half the loss.

Chart: UTES gained **5.6%**; ARKG lost 8.8%

A fund of U.S. biotech stocks, XBI, fell 3.4%. Moderna, one of its largest holdings, is up 536% this year. It hit a 52-week high on Tuesday and finished the day down 7.8%.
