# Holtec suspends planned $900 million U.S. IPO, Bloomberg reports

Holtec Nuclear halted a 50 million-share Nasdaq offering at $15 to $18, or up to $900 million, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, Bloomberg reported; the company has not confirmed.

Holtec Nuclear suspended its planned U.S. IPO a day before Thursday’s scheduled pricing, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday evening, citing people familiar with the matter. The offering was put on hold because of market conditions, the report said, citing one of those people. Holtec did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, and Reuters said it could not independently verify the report.

VanEck’s uranium and nuclear ETF NLR closed Wednesday at **$107.36**, down **13.8%** over three months and **12.7%** over five sessions.

The Camden, N.J., company had been marketing 50 million Class A shares at $15 to $18, or up to $900 million, for a Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas listing under HNUC. Holtec stores spent nuclear fuel and decommissions plants. Its September 8 S-1 amendment says it has more than **90%** of the U.S. wet spent-fuel storage market and about **75%** of dry storage as of March 31, 2026, and states pro forma backlog greater than **$5.2 billion** over the next 10 years. It is also developing an SMR-300, a small modular reactor with no commercial units, targeted for first deployment in the early 2030s at Holtec’s Palisades site in Michigan.

The registration statement remains on file at the SEC and has not become effective. Holtec’s September 8 roadshow launch included a 30-day option for underwriters to buy 7.5 million additional shares if a deal priced. A new prospectus date, an amendment, or a withdrawal of the filing would be the next public marker.
