# PGIM lists two more Jennison core ETFs after a May launch that still holds $7 million

The PGIM Jennison International Core Equity ETF PJIN and Small-Mid Cap Core Equity ETF PJSM, inception Tuesday, September 1, charge 0.23% and 0.29% and held $5.06 million and $5.09 million as of Monday, September 7.

By ETF.net Research. Published Sep 8, 2026.

PGIM Jennison U.S. Core Equity ETF PJUS, a large-cap U.S. stock fund listed in May at **0.19%**, still holds **$6.88 million**. PGIM has now listed the international and small-mid versions of that idea, PGIM Jennison International Core Equity ETF PJIN and Small-Mid Cap Core Equity ETF PJSM, each about **$5 million** as of Monday, September 7.

**$5 million** is seed capital, not a week's worth of demand. The test is whether the fund grows. Products with less than **$50 million** in assets accounted for **92%** of ETF closures in 2025, and PJUS is still a seed after a summer on the market.

Stuart Parker, PGIM's head of Global Wealth, said the launches advance a previously announced effort to organize the equity ETF lineup around core and focused solutions. That is a shelf decision. The sleeves they enter already have cheap, scaled funds.

## Jennison's weights on a list Avantis already owns

PJIN holds **121** stocks and seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances it invests at least 80% of investable assets in equity and equity-related securities, and it invests primarily in non-U.S. issuers, including emerging-market companies. PGIM benchmarks it to the MSCI EAFE Index, a developed-market gauge. The first book already uses the extra latitude: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is a **1.81%** position as of Tuesday, September 8.

The rest of the portfolio looks like concentrated EAFE.

Chart: **Financials** take the largest slice of PJIN

Shell is the largest holding at **3.57%**, ahead of ASML at 2.95% and Roche at 2.94%. The top 10 names are **25.8%** of the fund.

Jennison's concentrated international product is already listed. PGIM renamed it PGIM Jennison Focused International Equity ETF PJIO and cut the fee to **0.54%** on or about August 1; it had spent most of its life since December 2023 as PGIM Jennison International Opportunities at 0.90%. It holds about 39 stocks, **10.2%** in Taiwan Semiconductor, and **$59.7 million**. PJIN is the diversified, cheaper counterpart of that idea.

The closest active neighbor on the diversified side is JPMorgan's International Research Enhanced Equity ETF JIRE, which also uses fundamental research against MSCI EAFE and holds **$11.3 billion**. On matched holdings, the two books share 59 names and about **34%** of PJIN by weight.

Avantis International Equity ETF AVDE charges the same **0.23%** on $19.3 billion and 3,333 names. About **92%** of PJIN's identified stocks also sit in AVDE. The weight overlap is only **24%**. Jennison runs those shared names at a median of about four times Avantis's weight.

Chart: **Shared** names sit heavier in PJIN than in AVDE

The product is the sizing, plus room for emerging-market names inside a fund that still reports against EAFE. The cheap baseline is iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF IEFA, the plain developed-market index fund, at 0.07%.

## Cheaper than T. Rowe, still a seed

PJSM holds 259 stocks and invests at least 80% of investable assets in equity and equity-related securities of small- and medium-capitalization companies, which Jennison defines as those below the largest name in the Russell 2500 Index. East West Bancorp is **2.25%** of the fund, Gates Industrial 2.12%, Gaming and Leisure Properties 2.10%. The top 10 are **18.9%**. A PGIM money-market sleeve is **2.22%**, the second-largest line, typical of a book that just opened.

T. Rowe Price Small-Mid Cap ETF TMSL is the active lookalike: same Russell 2500 neighborhood, 288 stocks, **$3.03 billion**, and a **0.55%** expense ratio. The books are not copies. They share 70 names and about 21% of PJSM by weight. The cheap baseline is Vanguard Extended Market ETF VXF, the passive completion fund, at **0.05%**.

The incumbents, and the two new funds, as of September 7 and 8:

Table: Fund, Exposure, Expense, Assets, Holdings

The new funds match the going rate for active international equity and sit between T. Rowe and the cheaper small-mid rules-based funds, at a tiny fraction of the incumbents' assets.

PJIN has averaged 422 shares a day, about $21,284. Its 30-day median bid-ask spread was **0.16%** as of Friday, September 4, against a 0.23% expense ratio. PJSM has averaged **6** shares a day, about $304, with a **0.04%** median spread as of Thursday, September 3. On the international fund, crossing the spread is a real extra cost. On the small-mid fund, the published spread is tight; the problem is filling an order on a 6-share average.

Whether Jennison's weights are worth the same fee Avantis charges, or 0.29% against a 0.05% completion fund, is the only question these listings pose. The May fund is the working answer.
