Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's right-wing bloc, which has governed with Sweden Democrat support, looks to have lost its Riksdag majority. By Monday morning the Swedish Election Authority had Magdalena Andersson's Social Democrats, Centre Party, Greens and Left at **176** of 349 seats and Kristersson's Moderates, Sweden Democrats, Christian Democrats and Liberals at **173**. The Sweden Democrats, who kept that minority in office from outside the cabinet, were third on 17.6% and 62 seats, **11** fewer than at the 2022 election. Kristersson had promised them cabinet jobs if the right held, an offer this allocation does not deliver. Nothing in the stock market has traded this count yet.

The Social Democrats led on **28.1%** and **100** seats. Andersson told supporters on Sunday night that if the figures held, "Sweden will have a new government." Kristersson did not concede. Early Monday he said, "When we have the final result it's a good idea to look at possible combinations."

**6,273** of 6,626 districts were in, covering 6,431,759 votes. The authority had the blocs a seat apart earlier in the count; by Monday morning Andersson led by three. Another 353 districts remained, including **314** collection precincts that take overseas and late ballots. In 2022, **34,731** postal votes from abroad had reached the authority by the Wednesday after election day. County boards began the final count on Monday. Municipalities start on the collection districts on Wednesday, September 16, and can continue on Thursday, September 17. The authority expects to lock the Riksdag result during the coming weekend. The new Riksdag is due to meet on Monday, September 28.
