# WisdomTree restates OPPJ prospectus as Japan index sleeves can run to 50%

WisdomTree Trust on Monday, September 14, 2026 filed a restated OPPJ summary prospectus writing 0-50% ranges into two of four Japan index sleeves.

By ETF.net Research. Published Sep 14, 2026.

The WisdomTree Japan Opportunities Index may now put half its weight in Berkshire Hathaway's Japanese trading-house stakes and nothing at all in the shareholder-yield and governance sleeves. OPPJ, a Nasdaq-listed fund of Japanese equities that can hedge the yen, has tracked that index since June 30, 2025, when it left the WisdomTree Japan Hedged SmallCap Equity Index, and had **$353 million** in assets as of September 13.

A September 3 supplement had said the index methodology would be revised effective on or about Monday; Monday's Form 497K restates that revision as the fund's summary prospectus, with the fee still **0.58%** and the investment objective unchanged.

## OPPJ's four index sleeves

Three sleeves that carried a 15% floor can now sit at zero. Two of the four can run to half the index.

Table: Index sleeve, August 1 range, Restated range

Strategic Holdings, the sleeve tied to Berkshire Hathaway, can now run to **50%** of the index, from 45%, but only for Japanese companies that *are* Berkshire holdings on the screening date, defined as names in which Berkshire owns more than 5% of shares outstanding, as shown in public filings. The August 1 summary had used a wider test, covering companies that “are or have recently been” strategic holdings, including names Berkshire “owns or owned” above that 5% threshold. The filing does not explain why the definition narrowed in the same revision that lifted the ceiling.

The five Japanese trading houses in which Berkshire holds more than that 5%, Sumitomo, Mitsubishi, Marubeni, Mitsui, and Itochu, already account for **37%** of OPPJ as of September 14, inside the old 45% cap and short of the new 50%. The filing does not say the portfolio has already been rebuilt to the new bands; reconstitution remains at least quarterly.
