Our read on ADIV
DAsia Pacific dividend investing with a long paper trail: this strategy has been hunting regional dividend payers since 2006, targeting income plus long-term growth. Actively run, compact portfolio, and a fee that sits well above its peer group.
The fund seeks dividend income and long-term capital growth by investing primarily in dividend-producing equity securities of companies tied to the Asia Pacific region.
Why people hold it
- A dedicated Asia Pacific dividend mandate, not a global fund with a token Asia sleeve. The geography and the income-plus-growth goal are written into the prospectus.
- The strategy dates back to 2006, so there is real lived history across Asian market cycles to read, not just a short post-launch record.
- Pays income on a quarterly cadence, and the stated aim pairs dividends with long-term capital growth rather than yield alone.
- Compact active book of roughly 70 stocks, so manager selection shows through instead of being diluted across hundreds of names.
Worth knowing
- Cost is the headline trade-off: 1.95% a year against a 0.79% median for its peer group, with cheaper options in the same lane (VDI at 0.39%, IDVO at 0.65%).
- Thinly traded and modest in size, so spreads and order handling matter more here than with a mega-fund.
- On our review it lands toward the back of its small international-dividend peer group, largely on cost.
