Our read on AMOM

ETF.net Research

DMomentum with the stock picking handed to a machine: QRAFT's AI scores U.S. large caps instead of following a fixed index rulebook. A small, higher-fee way to rent an algorithm, running live since 2019.

Stated mandate

The Fund seeks capital appreciation through an actively managed strategy enhanced by artificial intelligence. It invests primarily in U.S.-listed large-capitalization companies selected using QRAFT AI's proprietary momentum process.

Why people hold it

  1. 01The rulebook is a model, not a page. QRAFT runs a proprietary AI momentum scoring process to pick U.S.-listed large caps, so the lineup can shift as the model rereads the market.
  2. 02One job, one factor. Actively managed, U.S. large caps only, momentum as the advertised screen. No sector story or thematic drift bolted on.
  3. 03Live since 2019, which gives the AI process a multi-year public record rather than a backtest. Standard 1940 Act ETF wrapper, daily holdings, no derivatives layer in the mandate.

Worth knowing

  1. 01The algorithm is not free. At 0.75% it sits above its momentum peer group's median, and index-based rivals like MTUM, SPMO and VFMO charge 0.12% to 0.15%.
  2. 02Small and thinly traded, so spreads can be wider than the household-name momentum funds and larger orders may need patience.
  3. 03Active means unpredictable in shape: with no published index to anchor to, holdings and factor exposure sit with the model, and cash payouts come annually or semiannually rather than monthly.
