Our read on AMUU
BDirexion's entry in the AMD leverage race, launched in 2025. AMUU aims for 200% of AMD's daily move, and it hits that daily target about as tightly as anything in the leveraged single-stock crowd.
The fund seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, equal to 200% of the performance of Advanced Micro Devices common shares. It is a leveraged single-stock strategy rather than an index fund.
Why people hold it
- Does the one job it advertises: 200% of AMD's daily move, tracked closely enough to rank in the upper tier of a large leveraged single-stock group.
- 2x, not 3x. A half-step of leverage on a stock that already moves, with a matching bear fund (AMDD) on the same shelf if you want the other side.direxion.com
- Screens as moderately traded rather than a ghost ticker, and Direxion runs it as a plain daily-reset swap-and-shares structure with no index licensing layer.
Worth knowing
- 1.16% a year is above the leveraged single-stock median and well above the cheapest 2x AMD wrapper (AMDG at 0.75%). Same underlying stock, different sticker.
- The 2x math resets every session. Held across a choppy stretch, results can drift meaningfully away from twice AMD's move over that period.
- One chipmaker carries the whole thing: earnings night, product cycles, guidance. And with a 2025 launch, the track record is short.

AMUU Risk
This fund targets a multiple of the daily move of its index and resets daily. Hold it longer than one reset and compounding makes the return diverge from that target. In choppy markets it can lose value even when the index ends flat.
- 211.9%
How it’s calculated: standard deviation
The sample standard deviation of monthly total returns, multiplied by the square root of 12.
Uses up to 36 complete months, with at least 12 required. Total returns include reinvested distributions.
- 1.38
How it’s calculated: Sharpe ratio
Subtract each month’s Treasury-bill return from the fund’s monthly total return.
Divide the average of those excess returns by their sample standard deviation, then multiply by the square root of 12.
Uses up to 36 complete months, with at least 12 required. Each month uses the Treasury yield quoted at the end of the previous month.
- −56.5%
How it’s calculated: maximum drawdown
The largest percentage decline from an earlier peak, using total returns with reinvested distributions.
Uses up to five years through the last close, with at least 12 months required.
- 5.22
How it’s calculated: beta
The beta figure is supplied by FMP. The comparison index depends on the fund’s broad asset class.
