Our read on AMZP
CAmazon, repackaged as a monthly paycheck. Kurv builds its AMZN exposure synthetically with options and writes calls against it, swapping part of the stock's upside for current income.
The Fund seeks current income while providing exposure to Amazon common-stock share-price performance, with potential investment gains limited.
Why people hold it
- Does the job its prospectus describes (income plus Amazon share-price exposure) and sits in the upper half of a 64-fund single-stock income cohort.
- Pays monthly, and points at one company rather than an index: this is Amazon's story with an options overlay bolted on, not a diluted basket.
- One of only two Amazon-dedicated option-income ETFs in the peer set. The other, AMZY, is priced within a hair, so the real choice is how each builds the trade.
Worth knowing
- Fees bite: 1.15% a year, above the typical fund in this cohort, and an options overlay already hands back upside before costs.
- Small and thinly traded, so spreads tend to be wider and size moves the price more than in headline ETFs.
- Exposure is synthetic, built from options rather than Amazon shares, and the calls it sells limit how much of a rally the fund keeps.
