Our read on BTCK

ETF.net Research

CBitcoin with a carbon offset bolted on. BTCK holds spot bitcoin alongside regulated carbon credit futures at a roughly 80/20 target, so the smaller sleeve is designed to cover the estimated footprint of the bitcoin the fund owns.

Stated mandate

The Fund seeks to reflect daily changes in bitcoin and Carbon Credit Futures through the 7RCC Kaiko Bitcoin Carbon Credit Index, less expenses. It normally targets an approximate 80% bitcoin and 20% Carbon Credit Futures allocation.

Why people hold it

  1. 01A pairing almost nothing else offers: spot bitcoin plus regulated carbon credit futures in one listed fund, tracking the 7RCC Kaiko Bitcoin Carbon Credit Index.businesswire.com
  2. 02The carbon slice is the whole idea: the issuer built the roughly 20% allocation to offset the estimated carbon footprint of the fund's bitcoin holdings.teucrium.com
  3. 03Cheapest fee in its tiny crypto-blend group. The CYBER HORNET 75/25 funds (BBB, EEE, SSS, XXX) all sit at 0.85% or above.
  4. 04Bitcoin exposure through a normal brokerage account, no wallet or crypto exchange login required, with carbon futures tied to European and US emissions markets.businesswire.com

Worth knowing

  1. 01The one-fifth in carbon means the fund is not built to move with bitcoin step for step, in either direction.
  2. 02Carbon exposure arrives through futures contracts that must be rolled, so that sleeve's results can drift from spot carbon prices.teucrium.com
  3. 03A 2026 launch structured as a commodity pool rather than a 1940 Act fund, and lightly traded so far, so spreads and limit orders are worth watching.
