Our read on PRXV

ETF.net Research

CPraxis put its 30-year Mennonite-rooted stewardship playbook into an ETF: the same CRSP US large-cap value benchmark the big index funds use, with faith-based screens deciding which names actually make it in.

Stated mandate

The Fund seeks capital appreciation. It invests primarily in U.S. equity securities and seeks results corresponding to the U.S. large-cap value equity market, measured by the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index.

Why people hold it

  1. 01Tracks the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index, but only companies that clear the Praxis Stewardship Investing screens make the portfolio.
  2. 02The values screen is written into the fund's own documents, and Praxis commits roughly 1% of each fund to community development investing through Calvert Impact.praxismutualfunds.com
  3. 03Faith-based investing with a long paper trail: Praxis has run stewardship-screened funds since the 1990s, and this is that playbook in ETF form.praxisinvests.com

Worth knowing

  1. 01At 0.36% it runs about double the typical US value ETF, and VTV tracks the same CRSP index for 0.03%. The screening and impact work are what the extra buys.
  2. 02Thinly traded with modest assets, so spreads can be wider than at the giants of this category.
  3. 03Launched in 2025, so the track record is short, and screening names out means results can drift from the index it follows.
