ARKG jumps 7.8% as genomics leads a narrow rebound

A day after the Federal Reserve raised its federal-funds target a quarter point to 3.75%–4.00% on a 12–0 vote, ARK Genomic Revolution ETF ARKG jumped 7.8%, as Tempus AI rose 15% and Schrödinger 26%.

The S&P 500 rose 1.1%. Equal-weight S&P 500 fund RSP gained 0.5%. The financials sector fund XLF slipped 0.1%. The Russell 2000 added 0.6%.

The 10-year Treasury yield ended at 4.94%, down 6 basis points. iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF TLT rose 1.1%. The CBOE Volatility Index fell 13% to 15.44.

Tempus, Schrödinger, and ARKG's 7.8%

The genomics fund closed at $51.59 after tagging a 52-week high of $52.09. About 8.6 million shares changed hands, more than twice recent daily volume. It is up 19% over one month and 78% year to date. This was a continuation, not a turn.

Tempus AI, an 8.5% weight, contributed 1.3 percentage points, the most of any holding, after CEO Eric Lefkofsky on Tuesday told Morgan Stanley's healthcare conference that reimbursement and test-pricing changes would lift revenue. Twist Bioscience added 0.8 points following Wednesday's agreement to supply antibody data to Eli Lilly's TuneLab platform. Schrödinger, a drug-discovery software name, contributed 0.7 points and printed a 52-week high of $30.41, a move that arrived without an operational update from the company. Absci rose 15%. Those four names accounted for 3.4 percentage points of the fund's gain.

Generac's Amazon contract

Generac Holdings rose 18% to $207.23, after trading as high as $233.18. A Wednesday 8-K said Amazon will take backup generators for its data centers, with initial deliveries expected to total $2.4 billion in 2027 and 2028. Warrant shares vest against qualifying payments of up to $8 billion. Amazon gained 2.1%.

SOXX gains 3.4% as yields and oil fall

Semiconductors rose with large-cap technology as Treasury yields and crude fell, a partial repair of Monday's 5.6% drop in iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX. West Texas Intermediate futures last traded at $101.29, down 1.1%. Super Micro Computer climbed 9.5%. Arm Holdings gained 8.6%, Intel 7.7%. Advanced Micro Devices added 6.4% and Micron 5.5%. The semiconductor fund gained 3.4%. Roundhill Memory ETF DRAM rose 4.4%. YieldMax's Super Micro option-income fund SMCY returned 6.2%, including a $0.0669 weekly distribution.

The Nasdaq Composite closed 1.7% higher at 26,418. Invesco QQQ Trust QQQ gained 1.7%. Technology sector fund XLK rose 2.2%.

The chip fund is still 2.2% lower over one month and 21% below its 52-week high. Thursday took back a piece of Monday. It did not take back the month.
