Baillie Gifford schedules 2027 manager changes at BGEG and BGIA
Baillie Gifford ETF Trust filed a September 8, 2026 supplement dropping managers from BGEG and BGIA on or about March 31, 2027; Alice Stretch joins BGEG on or about April 1.
Baillie Gifford will change the named managers on its International Alpha ETF, BGIA, and Emerging Markets ETF, BGEG, both of which began investment operations on June 3, 2026. A Rule 497(e) supplement to the trust's June 1 prospectus makes the changes effective on or about March 31 and April 1, 2027; it has not taken effect.
BGIA, which holds $66.8 million and has an expense ratio of 0.59%, will drop Donald Farquharson as a portfolio manager on or about March 31, 2027. Farquharson heads the Japanese Equities Team and is a partner of Baillie Gifford & Co; the same filing removes him from that team. The supplement does not name a successor. After that date the named managers are Chris Davies, Jenny Davis, Roderick Snell, Steve Vaughan, and Tom Walsh.
BGEG, which holds $11.4 million and has an expense ratio of 0.79%, will drop Andrew Stobart as a portfolio manager on or about March 31, 2027, and remove him from the Emerging Markets Equity Team. On or about April 1, 2027, Alice Stretch becomes a named portfolio manager. From that date the named managers are Ben Durrant, Mike Gush, and Stretch. Stretch is an investment manager in the Emerging Markets Equity Team; she joined Baillie Gifford in 2018 as an analyst on that team.
The larger fund's named line goes from six managers to five; the smaller fund's named line becomes Durrant, Gush, and Stretch.
