CCML

The Global X MLCC & Electronic Components ETF MLCC is an actively managed fund that seeks capital appreciation from companies that make multilayer ceramic capacitors, the tiny parts that store charge (more than 1,000 of them in a high-end smartphone, according to Murata Manufacturing), and from the broader electronic-components trade. Cboe lists the shares for trading Friday, September 11. The fund expects to get that exposure through swap agreements and other derivatives.

Two names at 20% each, in a 15-name index

The adviser will primarily consider companies in the Akros MLCC & Electronic Components Index, owned by unaffiliated Akros Technologies, Inc. The fund will not seek to replicate that index. The index targets up to 15 constituents, all listed in South Korea, Japan, or Taiwan, and rebalances quarterly. At each rebalance the two largest eligible names by market capitalization are designated Anchors and held at 20% each; the rest are free-float market-cap weighted, capped at 15%. The fund is classified as non-diversified. It will concentrate in an industry to approximately the same extent as the reference index, which as of August 20 was concentrated in electronic equipment, instruments and components.

A name enters the index if it takes at least 50% of revenue from MLCC and electronic-components production, manufacturing, and enabling equipment, or ranks among the three largest capacitor manufacturers worldwide by capacitor-segment revenue. Under normal circumstances the fund will invest at least 80% of net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, in what the paper calls MLCC & Electronic Components Companies, in derivatives that provide economic exposure to them, or in both. Derivatives count toward that test at notional value.

Total annual fund operating expenses are 0.75%, all of it a management fee, with no 12b-1 fee, no other expenses (estimated for the current fiscal year), and no waiver. The Roundhill MLCC & Electronic Components ETF CCML listed on Nasdaq on Wednesday, September 9, with 0.65% in total annual fund operating expenses.

Global X Management Company LLC is the adviser. Wayne Xie and Sandy Lu, CFA, are the portfolio managers from inception. The Rule 497(k) summary prospectus, dated Thursday, September 10, incorporates a prospectus and statement of additional information both dated Wednesday, September 9, the day Global X's Rule 485(b) post-effective amendment went effective immediately upon filing.

40% of the reference weight sits in two stocks. The fee is ten basis points above the fund that listed Wednesday.
