Key takeaways

  • Three chip names already take the top of the fund.
  • The weight cap can be exceeded after it is set.
  • One peer index leaves out the top holdings' home markets.
  • Fees land below both growth funds, not the broad one.

Healthcare was 31% of Invesco's new fund of companies outside the United States, QQI, as of Monday, October 5.

Invesco listed the fund on Wednesday, September 23, and called it the first international fund in its QQQ Innovation Suite. The firm said it would hold companies with a similar innovation, growth and profitability profile.

"As market leadership broadens globally, we believe that investors have an opportunity to complement or replace traditional international allocations with an approach targeting innovative, growth-driven businesses," said Paul Schroeder, director and QQQ product strategist at Invesco.

One example of a traditional international allocation is Vanguard's FTSE All-World ex-US ETF, VEU. It holds 3,823 stocks outside the United States, and healthcare was 6.9% of it.

Healthcare was 12.8% of the iShares MSCI EAFE Growth ETF, EFG, a fund of 350 growth stocks in developed markets outside the United States and Canada. Its index leaves out Taiwan and South Korea, home to QQI's two largest holdings, and China.

The closer match is JPMorgan's International Growth ETF, JIG. A manager picks its 93 holdings in developed and emerging markets outside the United States. Healthcare was 3.6% of it, and Taiwan Semiconductor was the largest holding.

QQI's healthcare weight is more than twice EFG's

Fund sector weights as of Monday, October 5, 2026

  • QQI31%
  • EFG13%
  • VEU6.9%
  • JIG3.6%

The closest structural peer, JIG, is the lightest.

The fund tracks the Nasdaq International Innovators 100 Index, which scores large and mid-size companies outside the United States on research spending relative to sales, revenue growth and profit margins, and keeps the 100 with the highest score. Company size sets the weights, and no stock may exceed 10% when those weights are set.

Taiwan Semiconductor, SK hynix and ASML, which makes the machines that make chips, were the three largest holdings and 23.5% of the fund. Taiwan Semiconductor alone was 10.8%, and the 10% cap applies when Nasdaq sets the weights, so the holding can sit above it afterward. The same stock is 4.4% of VEU.

Tencent came next, then the drugmakers Roche, Novartis and AstraZeneca. Technology was 42% of the fund, and the ten largest positions were 46.5%.

QQI charges a total expense ratio of 0.29% a year, below both of those growth funds. EFG charges 0.34%, as of Tuesday, June 30, and JIG charges 0.55%, as of Monday, August 31. The broad fund is cheaper: VEU charges 0.04%, as of Friday, February 27.

The fund has $4 million in assets and $312,852 in average daily trading.

Invesco's fund for the Nasdaq-100, QQQ, tracks the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq. Healthcare is 3.6% of QQQ and 31% of QQI.
