In short
ACEI Autocallable notes are a private-bank staple: big coupons, a call trigger, conditional downside cushion. ACEI ladders swaps that replicate that payoff on S&P 500 stocks and puts it in an ETF you can trade any day.
JOYT JOYT sells options against a concentrated book of large-cap U.S. stocks, but the premium is aimed at total return and lower volatility rather than a monthly paycheck. Distributions land once or twice a year.
Stated mandate
ACEI The Fund seeks high income and potential to limit downside losses through a laddered portfolio of OTC swaps designed to replicate autocallable notes on common-stock reference assets selected from a U.S. equity index, currently the S&P 500 Index.
JOYT JOYT seeks total return with lower volatility than the overall U.S. large-cap market through dividends, options premium, and capital appreciation. It uses an actively managed portfolio of primarily established large-cap U.S. equities and an options overlay intended to diversify returns and reduce volatility.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
