ACTSCFIS Tactical Equity ETF

AVTMAAvantis Total Equity Markets ETF 1

In short

ACTS A Christian-values stock screen with a risk dial bolted on: ACTS runs an actively managed global equity book and shifts exposure as the adviser reads macro events, market breadth and volatility.

AVTM Avantis' one-ticket world stock market: roughly 1,700 holdings, U.S. names owned directly and the overseas sleeves held through sister Avantis funds, all tilted toward cheaper, more profitable companies.

Stated mandate

ACTS The Fund seeks long-term capital growth in rising markets while seeking to protect capital during market drawdowns. It is an actively managed ETF investing at least 80% of net assets in equity securities, including domestic and international issuers and emerging-market companies.

AVTM Seeks long-term capital appreciation through a broadly diversified total-market equity allocation, using individual securities and Avantis ETFs while emphasizing securities expected to offer higher returns or better risk characteristics than a passive market-capitalization-weighted index.

Why people hold it

  • ACTS Two jobs, one ticker: biblical exclusion screening plus a tactical dial that adjusts exposure based on the adviser's read of macro events, market breadth and volatility.businesswire.comsec.gov
  • Global by design, not by accident: US and international companies including emerging markets, with foreign names generally held through ADRs and GDRs.sec.gov
  • Stock selection starts with a quantitative screen spanning value, quality, growth, momentum and low volatility rather than a manager's hunch.
  • The 0.69% expense ratio sits right at the median for actively managed global equity funds, so the faith screen and the tactical work carry no premium within that group.
  • AVTM Costs 0.22% net of a fee waiver (0.23% gross), a notch under stablemate AVGE at 0.23% and below the typical fee in its category.
  • Owns U.S. companies directly rather than only stacking funds, then uses Avantis ETFs for developed and emerging markets abroad. One ticket, all market caps.sec.gov
  • Benchmarked to 85% Russell 3000 and 15% MSCI ACWI ex-US IMI: a deliberately U.S.-heavy world portfolio, not a global cap-weight split.avantisinvestors.com
  • One of the stronger builds in a crowded field of actively managed global equity funds.

Worth knowing

  • ACTS That 0.69% is median for active peers but far above index-style global options such as GSWO (0.15%) and AVGE (0.25%). The tactical layer has to justify the gap.
  • Launched in March 2026, so the defensive playbook has not yet run through a full market cycle.
  • Trading has been thin since launch, so bid-ask spreads can run wider than at the big global index funds.
  • AVTM Avantis flags that much of the starting portfolio sits on a low tax basis, so the fund may realize and distribute more capital gains than other ETFs.avantisinvestors.com
  • Trades thinly next to the index giants in its category, so spreads and order size matter more here.
  • Launched January 2026, so the history is short, and with no index to follow the portfolio reflects Avantis' own valuation and profitability tilts.sec.gov

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
