Our read on each fund
AVGEA
GEQA
In short
AVGE Avantis's whole-world equity portfolio in one ticker: a fund built from its own factor ETFs across US, developed and emerging markets, tilted toward smaller and cheaper stocks, at 0.23% a year with no waiver involved.
GEQ Equal weight, worldwide: every large cap gets the same slice, so a few mega caps don't run the show. Cambria launched it through a Section 351 exchange, built as a landing spot for concentrated, low-basis stock.
Stated mandate
AVGE The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through a broadly diversified equity portfolio. It invests directly or through Avantis ETFs and emphasizes companies expected to offer higher returns or better risk characteristics than a passive, market-cap-weighted index.
GEQ The fund seeks capital appreciation through diversified exposure to global equities, using an equal-weighted approach intended to reduce concentration and improve diversification relative to market-cap weighting.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
