DIVSBGuinness Atkinson Dividend Builder ETF

In short

CGDG Capital Group's stock pickers hunt dividend growers anywhere on the map, developed markets and emerging ones alike, and charge less than the typical active global fund to do it. Roughly 100 names, income paid quarterly.

DIVS One of the first mutual funds ever converted into an ETF (March 2021), DIVS runs a 2012-vintage global dividend strategy: about 35 roughly equal-weight names that cleared ten straight years of 10%-plus real cash returns on capital.

Stated mandate

CGDG CGDG seeks long-term total returns by investing in companies worldwide with the potential to provide attractive yield and dividend growth over the long term.

DIVS The ETF seeks moderate current income and dividend growth that exceeds inflation. It is actively managed and invests mainly in dividend-paying companies with the potential for consistent dividend increases.

Why people hold it

  • CGDG Charges 0.47% a year, below the going rate for actively managed global equity ETFs. Cheap for a hand-picked portfolio, even if index products undercut it.
  • The mandate is genuinely worldwide, developed and emerging markets both in scope, and it screens for dividend growth potential rather than chasing the fattest current yield.
  • About 100 holdings, concentrated enough that individual picks carry real weight instead of getting diluted into an index-shaped blob. Distributions land quarterly.
  • Rates among the strongest funds in a crowded global active-equity group, and one of the few there built specifically around dividend growers.
  • DIVS 0.45% net of a waiver through June 30, 2029, against a 0.98% gross fee. That sits under category standouts CGDG (0.47%), DIVD (0.49%) and CVGD (0.50%).
  • The quality bar is written into the prospectus: a real cash flow return on investment of at least 10% in each of the last 10 years, not merely a long payout history.sec.gov
  • Roughly 35 global positions at approximately equal weight, so no single name owns the income stream. Distributions go out quarterly.sec.gov

Worth knowing

  • CGDG Launched in 2023, so there's no decade of results to judge this team's approach through a full market cycle.
  • Several highly rated global peers (GSWO, DFAW, AVGE) charge less. The extra fee here buys active selection, not broader coverage.
  • Emerging-market holdings bring currency swings and country-specific risk that a US-only dividend fund doesn't carry.
  • DIVS Thinly traded with a small asset base, so the spread can cost more than the fee. Limit orders are the usual workaround.
  • That 0.45% is a waived rate; the gross fee is 0.98%. The waiver runs through June 30, 2029, and the cost resets higher if it is not renewed.
  • Active and concentrated at roughly three dozen names, with foreign-listed holdings, so currency moves and single-stock calls both show up in results.sec.gov

As of
How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
