EGLECGlobal X S&P 500 U.S. Revenue Leaders ETF

USPXAFranklin U.S. Equity Index ETF

In short

EGLE The S&P 500, minus the multinationals. EGLE keeps only index members earning at least half their revenue inside the United States, roughly 400 names instead of 500.

USPX The odd one out in the S&P 500 aisle. Franklin's fund tracks a Morningstar large-cap benchmark instead, for three basis points. Same big-US-stocks job, different scorecard, and a fee that undercuts most of the peer group.

Stated mandate

EGLE The fund seeks more targeted U.S. equity exposure by tracking S&P 500 companies with at least half of their revenue generated in the United States.

USPX The fund seeks to provide U.S. equity exposure through an index-based strategy.

Why people hold it

  • EGLE One rule does the work: an S&P 500 company stays in only if at least half its revenue is generated in the US. No manager discretion, no stock picking.
  • Still a wide net. About 400 of the 500 clear the screen, so you keep large-cap breadth while trimming the index's most globally dependent revenue.
  • It follows a published S&P index rather than a house-built benchmark, so the rulebook and the resulting holdings are out in the open.
  • USPX 0.03% a year, a fraction of the roughly 0.15% typical in its peer group and level with the fee on VOO and IVV.
  • Sticks close to its Morningstar US Target Market Exposure Index, one of the tighter index-following records among the S&P 500 wrappers it sits beside.
  • Rules-based cap-weighted US equity, roughly 190 names, no factor tilts or manager picks. Pays quarterly.
  • Running since 2016 and now a multi-billion-dollar fund, with Franklin Templeton behind it.

Worth knowing

  • EGLE The screen costs 0.19% a year, against 0.03% at VOO and IVV and 0.02% at SPYM. That gap is what you pay for the domestic filter.
  • A 2025 launch that is still small and thinly traded, so spreads can run wider than at the giant S&P 500 funds it sits beside.
  • Filtering out global revenue cuts both ways: when overseas sales are what move the parent index, this version sits that part out.
  • USPX Different index, different constituent rules. Holdings and returns can drift from the S&P 500 trackers most people compare it to.
  • Moderately traded rather than a volume monster like SPY, which can mean wider bid-ask spreads than the biggest names in the category.
  • Fewer names than the 500-stock benchmarks next door, and cap weighting keeps the largest US companies in the driver's seat.

As of
How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
