Our read on each fund
FLTR—
VCSHA
In short
FLTR One of the first corporate floating-rate note ETFs to list, back in April 2011. Coupons reset periodically, so rate sensitivity stays minimal, and its index can hold notes maturing anywhere from 6 months out to 30 years.
VCSH Corporate credit, kept short. VCSH tracks an index of investment-grade company bonds maturing in one to five years, at three basis points: you take company credit risk instead of government risk, with muted sensitivity to rate moves.
Stated mandate
FLTR The fund seeks to track the MVIS US Investment Grade Floating Rate Index before fees and expenses. The index comprises U.S.-dollar floating-rate notes from investment-grade corporate issuers.
VCSH The fund seeks to follow a market-weighted corporate bond index with a short-term dollar-weighted average maturity, using index sampling and investing at least 80% of assets in index bonds.

Worth knowing
FLTR vs VCSH Holdings
How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
