VTCA
In short
LQDI Investment-grade corporate credit with a CPI swap stapled on top: LQDI owns a corporate bond fund and overlays inflation swaps to trim inflation sensitivity, at 0.18% net of a waiver through February 29, 2028.
VTC Most cheap corporate bond funds sell you one slice of the maturity curve. VTC buys the whole investment-grade corporate market, short to long, for 0.03% a year, and since 2025 it owns the bonds directly instead of stacking three Vanguard funds.
Stated mandate
LQDI The Fund seeks to track an index intended to reduce inflation risk for a portfolio of U.S. dollar-denominated, investment-grade corporate bonds. It primarily uses an underlying corporate-bond fund and inflation swaps to implement that exposure.
VTC The Fund seeks to track a broad, market-weighted corporate bond index, specifically the Bloomberg U.S. Corporate Bond Index. It uses an indexing approach focused on investment-grade, fixed-rate, taxable corporate bonds.

LQDI vs VTC Holdings
How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
