SUPPDTCW Transform Supply Chain ETF

In short

MADE The reshoring theme, done index-style: roughly 110 US companies that earn real revenue from making things, from factory floors to chipmaking gear, at 0.40% a year while the peer group's median fee is 0.75%.

SUPP Reshoring, stock-picked. SUPP is an active, roughly 30-name book on the companies rebuilding North American supply chains: factories, freight and the automation in between, run by TCW's analysts since February 2023.

Stated mandate

MADE The fund seeks to track an index of U.S. companies with substantial manufacturing-related revenue, including industrial manufacturing, automotive, electronics, and semiconductor-manufacturing equipment. It provides focused exposure to domestic manufacturing and possible reshoring trends.

SUPP The fund seeks concentrated exposure to companies driving or benefiting from the relocation of supply chains to North America, particularly across manufacturing, transportation, and automation.

Why people hold it

  • MADE Charges 0.40% a year against a 0.75% median for its reshoring peer group, where WELD and SUPP both sit at 0.75%.
  • Spreads across about 110 US names through an S&P index covering industrial manufacturing, autos, electronics and semiconductor equipment.
  • Rules-based index rather than a manager's hunch, quarterly distributions, and iShares plumbing behind it. One of the stronger builds in the reshoring group.
  • SUPP Active by design: TCW's managers pick roughly 30 names rather than taking whatever a reshoring screen spits out.tcw.com
  • Covers the whole chain, not just the factory floor: manufacturing, transportation and automation tied to the shift toward North America.tcw.com
  • Trading since February 2023, so the theme comes with a live multi-year record of real decisions instead of a backtest.

Worth knowing

  • MADE Launched in 2024, so the record is short and hasn't spanned a full industrial cycle.
  • Trades lighter than the big broad-market funds, so spreads can run wider, especially near the open and close.
  • Not the cheapest in the cohort: iShares' own IETC runs 0.18%, though it targets tech independence rather than broad manufacturing.
  • SUPP A small fund that trades thinly. Spreads can be wider than on big index ETFs, and larger orders can move the price.
  • The 0.75% fee is par for active thematics, but index-built rivals like IETC and MADE charge far less for reshoring exposure.
  • About 30 holdings, concentrated by mandate: individual picks and a couple of sectors carry real weight in the ride.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
