SPYVAState Street SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Value ETF

In short

NYSX A 2026 launch that does one plain thing: track the NYSE 100 Index for 0.09% a year. About 100 large listings, rules-based, no clever twist. The pitch here is price and simplicity.

SPYV The value side of the S&P 500, tracked since 2000 for four basis points. It does one thing: hold the index names that screen cheap, and charge close to nothing for the privilege.

Stated mandate

NYSX The fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the NYSE® 100 Index.

SPYV The fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the total return of the S&P 500 Value Index.

Why people hold it

  • NYSX 0.09% a year, a fraction of the roughly 0.45% median for its index-wrapper peer group. Fee-wise it sits with the low-cost crowd, not the tourists.
  • About 100 holdings drawn from the NYSE 100 Index: a compact large-cap sleeve rather than a 500- or 3,000-name basket.
  • Rules first. It aims to track a published index before fees and expenses, so the lineup is set by methodology, not a manager's conviction.globalxetfs.com
  • SPYV 0.04% a year. VOOV tracks the identical S&P 500 Value Index and charges 0.07%, so this is the same exposure at a lower fee.
  • Trading since 2000 and now a multi-billion-dollar fund that changes hands actively, so the plumbing is well worn.
  • No stock picking, no factor secret sauce: it aims to match the S&P 500 Value Index before fees, and it is one of the cleaner implementations in its peer group.ssga.com

Worth knowing

  • NYSX It launched in 2026, so there is no long history of tracking or drawdowns to judge it by. The record is still being written.
  • It started out small and lightly traded, which can mean wider bid-ask spreads than the entrenched index giants in the same category.
  • Cash comes on an annual or semiannual schedule, not quarterly, so income arrives in fewer, lumpier drops.
  • SPYV This is one style slice, roughly 400 value-screened names, not the whole S&P 500. It will move differently from the full index.
  • Value goes through long stretches in and out of favor. The fund follows the index rules either way, with no manager stepping in.
  • Distributions land quarterly, not monthly.
