Our read on AOTG
DMost growth funds buy "tech." AOTG buys an economic trait: businesses that can sell the next unit for almost nothing. A concentrated, actively run book built on low marginal cost, growth and quality screens.
The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through active investment in U.S.-listed equities with high growth potential, emphasizing companies whose low marginal-cost business models can support expanding profits and growth.
Why people hold it
- The filter is an economics test, not a sector label: companies that can deliver more goods or services without materially raising their costs.sec.gov
- Genuinely active, not a closet index. A boutique specialist recommends the names and the adviser places the trades, inside a plain 1940 Act ETF wrapper.sec.gov
- A focused book rather than a sprawling index, so the manager's best ideas actually move the needle.
Worth knowing
- Fees run 0.75% a year against a 0.54% peer median, and several top-ranked rivals in the group (JUSA at 0.12%, FELG at 0.18%) cost a fraction of that.
- Small and thinly traded next to the giants of its category, so spreads can be wider. Limit orders matter more here than on a megafund.
- A capital-appreciation mandate with no payouts in the last year, and concentration cuts both ways: a few names drive the outcome.
