This fund multiplies its index's move each day and resets that multiple daily. Because daily returns compound, its long-run return can differ from the headline multiple.

Our read on ETHT

ETF.net Research

AProShares' geared ether fund aims for twice ether's daily move, and charges 1.02% a year to do it, one of the leanest fees in the leveraged crypto aisle. A blunt instrument, priced like a mainstream product.

Stated mandate

The fund seeks daily investment results equal to twice the daily performance of ether, before fees and expenses.

Why people hold it

  1. 011.02% a year sits well below the typical leveraged crypto fund, and it undercuts ETHU, the other fund chasing the same 2x ether exposure, by a wide margin.
  2. 02One job, stated plainly: twice ether's daily performance before fees. No stock picking, no yield overlay, nothing to decode.proshares.com
  3. 03A 1940 Act registered fund from ProShares, and one of the stronger builds in the leveraged crypto group on cost and structure.
  4. 04Actively traded, which matters for a tool built around day-to-day moves rather than sitting in a drawer.

Worth knowing

  1. 01The 2x target resets every day. Over longer holds, choppy ether markets can leave returns far from twice the period's move, in either direction.
  2. 02Exposure runs through derivatives rather than ether itself, so contract pricing and counterparties sit between the fund and the coin.
  3. 03Launched in 2024, so the track record is short, and it doubles the daily swings of an already jumpy asset.

This fund targets a multiple of the daily move of its index and resets daily. Hold it longer than one reset and compounding makes the return diverge from that target. In choppy markets it can lose value even when the index ends flat.

How much the fund’s monthly returns vary, scaled to a year.
157.9%
Annualised · 26 months to Aug 2026
How it’s calculated: standard deviation

The sample standard deviation of monthly total returns, multiplied by the square root of 12.
