Our read on IMVP
CMost India ETFs hand you the whole market. Invesco's goes narrow instead: a Bloomberg index that screens Indian stocks on value, momentum, profitability and low volatility, landing on roughly 30 names. Listed since 2008.
The Fund seeks to track the Bloomberg India MVP Index before fees and expenses.
Why people hold it
- Rules pick the stocks, not a mood. The fund tracks the Bloomberg India MVP Index, which screens on value, momentum, profitability and low volatility, so selection follows a published methodology.
- Concentration on purpose: roughly 30 stocks, so the screen's picks actually show up in results rather than getting diluted across hundreds of names.
- Real mileage. It has been trading since 2008, through several India boom-and-bust cycles, inside Invesco's ETF lineup.
Worth knowing
- The screen costs you: 0.78% a year, above the typical India fund and roughly four times Franklin's plain-vanilla FLIN at 0.19%.
- Thirty stocks cut both ways. One stumbling large position lands harder here than in a broad market-cap India fund like INDA.
- One country, one currency. The mandate is India equities only, so India's market and the rupee drive the ride with nothing else to soften it.
