Our read on PTL
BA 500-stock US large-cap index fund built on Inspire's biblically responsible screen: only companies scoring zero or higher on its Impact Score get in. Familiar large-cap shape, minus the megacap tech names the issuer says the screen keeps out, at 0.09% a year.
The Fund seeks to replicate, before fees and expenses, the investment results of the Inspire 500 Index.
Why people hold it
- 0.09% a year against a 0.25% median for values-screened peers, and level with the cheapest broad ESG index funds like ESGV.inspireetf.com
- The screen is the product: market-cap weighted exposure to the 500 largest US companies that clear an Inspire Impact Score of zero or higher.inspireetf.com
- Faith-based funds usually carry boutique pricing. This one is priced like plumbing, and has gathered several hundred million dollars since its 2024 launch.
- A plain index wrapper with quarterly distributions, and it sits in the upper half of the values-screened group on our review.
Worth knowing
- Inspire says the screen leaves out the megacap 'Magnificent 7', so results can diverge widely from a standard S&P 500 fund in either direction.inspireetf.com
- Trades lightly for its size, so spreads can run wider than on mega-index funds and bigger orders need more care.
- Launched in March 2024, which is a thin track record to judge risk on.
