Our read on QQMG
BThe Nasdaq-100 with an ESG filter on top: the same mega-cap growth roster, minus the names that fail the screens. Roughly 90 stocks at 0.20% a year, from the same house that runs the original Nasdaq-100 fund.
The Fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Nasdaq-100 ESG Index.
Why people hold it
- Tracks the Nasdaq-100 ESG Index, so the familiar mega-cap growth lineup stays intact while companies failing the ESG screens are filtered out.
- 0.20% a year, right at the median for Nasdaq-100 trackers. The ESG screen arrives without an ESG surcharge.
- Roughly 90 names, and it follows its stated index tightly. On mandate fidelity it stands with the stronger builds in the Nasdaq-100 group.
- Launched in 2021 by Invesco, the shop behind the original Nasdaq-100 fund, and it distributes quarterly.
Worth knowing
- Thinly traded next to the group's heavyweights, which tends to mean wider bid-ask spreads and more care needed on larger orders.
- Pricier than Invesco's unscreened versions of the same index family: QQQM at 0.15% and QQQ at 0.18%.
- The screens remove some Nasdaq-100 members, so the holdings and sector mix diverge from the standard index, and results diverge with them.
