Our read on each fund
ACWXB
VXUSA
In short
ACWX One ticker for everything outside America: roughly 1,900 large and mid-cap stocks across developed and emerging markets, running since 2008. The convenience is real, and so is the price tag next to its cheaper index cousins.
VXUS Everything outside the US in one ticker: roughly 8,600 stocks across developed and emerging markets, large caps down to small, for 0.05% a year. Vanguard's answer to international investing is to just own the whole thing.
Stated mandate
ACWX The Fund seeks to track an index of large- and mid-capitalization non-U.S. equities. Its index covers developed and emerging markets excluding the United States, and the Fund uses representative sampling while generally investing at least 80% in index components or substantially identical instruments.
VXUS The fund uses a passive indexing strategy to track the FTSE Global All Cap ex US Index, which measures the performance of large-, mid-, and small-cap stocks in developed and emerging markets outside the United States.
