DEWCWisdomTree Global High Dividend Fund

IGROAiShares International Dividend Growth ETF

In short

DEW Most high-dividend funds in this corner of the market stop at the US border. DEW doesn't: one ticket buys the top-yielding slice of US, developed and emerging markets, weighted by the dividend dollars companies actually pay.

IGRO Dividend growth, not dividend yield, taken overseas. IGRO tracks a Morningstar index of non-US companies with a habit of raising their payouts, spread across roughly 500 names, for a fee that undercuts most of the international dividend shelf.

Stated mandate

DEW The fund seeks to track high-dividend-yielding companies across U.S., developed international, and emerging equity markets.

IGRO The fund seeks to track an index of international stocks with a history of growing dividends, providing dividend-focused international equity exposure for income and long-term growth.

Why people hold it

  • DEW One ticket spans US, developed international and emerging high-yielders. The cohort's cheapest leaders (VYMI, SCHY, IGRO) are ex-US only, making DEW the rarer whole-world version.wisdomtree.com
  • Weights companies by the cash dividends they pay rather than market cap, spread across roughly 700 stocks, so no single payer dominates the income stream.wisdomtree.com
  • Listed in 2006, one of the longer-running global dividend ETFs, and it pays quarterly.
  • IGRO Costs 0.15% a year, well under the typical fee for an international dividend screen.
  • Does what the label says: it follows the Morningstar Global ex-US Dividend Growth Index closely, one of the tightest index-to-portfolio matches in its peer group.
  • Roughly 500 non-US payers, so no single dividend carries the fund. Cash goes out quarterly.

Worth knowing

  • DEW At 0.58% it charges more than the cohort median of 0.50%, and several times the cheapest ex-US dividend peers, VYMI and SCHY, which sit near 0.07%.
  • Thinly traded with a modest asset base, so bid-ask spreads and order type matter more here than in the category's giants.
  • History before June 2009 reflects a European equity income mandate; the global high-dividend strategy dates from then.wisdomtree.com
  • IGRO It trades thin next to heavyweights like VYMI, so limit orders and calmer mid-session trading matter more here.
  • The screen targets payout growth, not the fattest yields, so income tends to run lighter than yield-first international funds.
  • Cheaper neighbors exist: VIGI at 0.07% and SCHY at 0.08%, though each tracks a different index with a different holdings list.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
