Our read on each fund
DJIAA
THTAB
In short
DJIA Covered calls, but on the Dow. This fund owns the 30 blue chips and sells one-month at-the-money calls against them, swapping upside for monthly cash. It also happens to carry the index's own ticker.
THTA Most options-income funds sell upside on stocks they own. THTA owns no stocks: it holds short-duration Treasuries and sells defined-risk credit spreads on major US index options, targeting a 10% annualized distribution rate paid monthly.
Stated mandate
DJIA The Fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the DJIA Cboe BuyWrite v2 Index. Its strategy owns Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks and sells corresponding one-month at-the-money call options.
THTA THTA seeks current income by combining U.S. government securities, including Treasury bills and bonds, with a credit-spread options strategy intended to enhance yield.
