EDGXBGlobal X U.S. 500 Income Edge ETF

FEPIBREX FANG & Innovation Equity Premium Income ETF

In short

EDGX Income on a weekly clock. EDGX writes calls on part of a 500-stock US large-cap core, targets a 9% annualized distribution rate, and currently charges nothing: the 0.50% fee is waived to zero through March 1, 2027.

FEPI Most option-income ETFs sell calls on the S&P 500. FEPI runs the same playbook on roughly 60 FANG and innovation names, pairing concentrated big-tech exposure with monthly premium income, and it charges less than the typical fund in its group.

Stated mandate

EDGX The fund seeks current income and exposure to the Solactive GBS United States 500 Index. It is actively managed and generates weekly income by writing call options.

FEPI The Fund seeks capital appreciation and current income.

Why people hold it

  • EDGX The entire 0.50% fee is waived to zero through March 1, 2027. Peers in the group carry theirs with no waiver: DJIA at 0.60%, THTA at 0.65%, HYGW at 0.69%.
  • Pays weekly rather than quarterly, targeting a 9% annualized distribution rate funded by option premiums and the dividends thrown off by its equity sleeve.globalxetfs.comglobalxetfs.com 2
  • Calls are sold on only a portion of the portfolio, and the managers dial coverage up or down as market conditions shift, so some equity exposure stays uncapped.globalxetfs.comglobalxetfs.com 2
  • One of the stronger implementations in a crowded options-income field of roughly two dozen funds.
  • FEPI 0.65% a year, under the 0.75% median for option-income index overlays.
  • The call writing sits on the Solactive FANG Innovation Index, roughly 60 tech and innovation names, not a broad benchmark. Focused by design.
  • Distributions land monthly, on a schedule rather than in lumps.
  • One of the stronger implementations among the option-income overlay funds we cover.

Worth knowing

  • EDGX The waiver ends March 1, 2027. Unless it is extended, the 0.50% gross expense ratio applies after that.
  • The covered slice gives up gains above the strike, and the 9% figure is a target, not a floor: distributions come out of NAV and may include return of capital.streetinsider.com
  • Launched in 2026, it is a small fund that trades thinly, so the bid-ask spread is part of the cost of getting in and out.
  • FEPI Premium income is paid for with upside. Selling calls on the holdings means a runaway tech rally leaves some of the gain on the table.
  • Roughly 60 US tech names is a narrow slice of the market, and payouts float with options premiums, so the monthly amount moves around.
  • Launched in 2023, so its track record is shorter than the older overlay funds it competes with, like LQDW and YLDE.
