PTLBInspire 500 ETF

SNPEAXtrackers S&P 500 Scored & Screened ETF

In short

PTL A 500-stock US large-cap index fund built on Inspire's biblically responsible screen: only companies scoring zero or higher on its Impact Score get in. Familiar large-cap shape, minus the megacap tech names the issuer says the screen keeps out, at 0.09% a year.

SNPE The S&P 500 with roughly 200 names screened out, for 0.10% a year. SNPE keeps the plumbing of a plain core index fund and lets S&P's rules, not a stock picker, decide who stays in the basket.

Stated mandate

PTL The Fund seeks to replicate, before fees and expenses, the investment results of the Inspire 500 Index.

SNPE The fund seeks investment results that generally correspond, before fees and expenses, to the performance of its underlying index.

Why people hold it

  • PTL 0.09% a year against a 0.25% median for values-screened peers, and level with the cheapest broad ESG index funds like ESGV.inspireetf.com
  • The screen is the product: market-cap weighted exposure to the 500 largest US companies that clear an Inspire Impact Score of zero or higher.inspireetf.com
  • Faith-based funds usually carry boutique pricing. This one is priced like plumbing, and has gathered several hundred million dollars since its 2024 launch.
  • A plain index wrapper with quarterly distributions, and it sits in the upper half of the values-screened group on our review.
  • SNPE A 0.10% expense ratio puts it in the cheap seats of the screened-index crowd, alongside XVV (0.08%) and ESGV (0.09%) and well under the group's typical fee.
  • Plain index plumbing: it aims to match the S&P 500 Scored & Screened Index before fees, and it has hugged that mandate closely.
  • Roughly 300 stocks, so the screen actually bites. Around 200 S&P 500 members are cut outright rather than quietly trimmed.
  • A multi-billion-dollar Xtrackers fund running since 2019 with steady daily volume and quarterly payouts. Not a thin, untested launch.

Worth knowing

  • PTL Inspire says the screen leaves out the megacap 'Magnificent 7', so results can diverge widely from a standard S&P 500 fund in either direction.inspireetf.com
  • Trades lightly for its size, so spreads can run wider than on mega-index funds and bigger orders need more care.
  • Launched in March 2024, which is a thin track record to judge risk on.
  • SNPE Cutting ~200 names concentrates what's left. The megacap leaders of the parent index end up carrying even more weight here.
  • The screens are S&P's, not yours. They are rules-based and reapplied at each rebalance, so the roster can shift without warning.
  • Not the outright cheapest option in the group: XVV and ESGV shave a basis point or two off the fee.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
