Our read on each fund
USHYA
XBB
In short
USHY The wide-angle lens on junk bonds: about 1,900 US dollar high yield corporate issues for 0.08% a year, a fifth of what the typical fund in its category charges. Broad, cheap, heavily traded, and it pays monthly.
XB High yield, sliced by credit grade. XB holds only the single-B tier, the fat middle of the junk market, leaving out BB near-investment-grade paper and CCC deep-distress names. One of the original ratings-specific high yield ETFs, trading since 2022.
Stated mandate
USHY The fund seeks to track an index of U.S. dollar-denominated high yield corporate bonds.
XB The fund is designed to provide exposure to U.S. dollar-denominated, below-investment-grade corporate debt in the B-rated segment of the high-yield bond market.

Worth knowing
USHY vs XB Holdings
How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
