Our read on BAMD

ETF.net Research

DAn actively run income fund that refuses to stay in one lane: dividend payers, preferred shares, high-yield bonds and other ETFs are all fair game. You pay up for that flexibility, and it stays a small, hands-on operation.

Stated mandate

The Fund seeks to provide income together with capital appreciation.

Why people hold it

  1. 01Wide income mandate. Dividend stocks, preferred shares, high-yield bonds and other funds all sit inside the charter, so the manager can move where the payout comes from.
  2. 02Concentrated by design at roughly 70 positions, so individual picks actually move the needle instead of being diluted into an index-sized crowd.
  3. 03The 80% policy in the prospectus keeps assets in income-producing US stocks or unaffiliated ETFs, and cash distributions go out on a quarterly schedule.money.usnews.com

Worth knowing

  1. 01The 0.95% fee sits well above the typical dividend ETF in this group, where CGDV charges 0.33% and TDVG 0.50%. That gap is the price of active discretion.
  2. 02Small and thinly traded, so the bid-ask spread on a given trade can matter as much as the annual fee.
  3. 03Launched in 2023, so the record is short. And because preferreds and junk bonds are in scope, part of the income can carry credit risk, not just equity risk.
