Our read on DRUP
DMost disruption funds hunt cash-burning small caps. DRUP starts with a large-cap universe and keeps the 50 names that score highest on disruption, judged on patent value, R&D spend, revenue growth and gross margins.
The Fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Nasdaq US Large Cap Select Disruptors Index. It provides exposure to large-cap U.S.-listed companies selected for high disruption scores.
Why people hold it
- The disruption score is built from patent value, R&D expenses, revenue growth and gross margins, so innovation gets measured off filings and financials rather than a marketing theme.indexes.nasdaqomx.com
- Large caps only. The 50 holdings are drawn from the Nasdaq US 500 Large Cap Index, so you get the disruption angle without the pre-revenue moonshots that define much of this shelf.indexes.nasdaqomx.com
- Rules-based and passive: the index does the picking, not a manager's conviction, and it has run on the same scoring model since the fund launched in 2019.graniteshares.com
Worth knowing
- The fee sits well above the median for disruption funds. Peers such as KOMP (0.20%) and XT (0.46%) deliver a similar theme for a fraction of the cost.
- Small asset base and light trading volume. Limit orders matter more here than with the household-name thematic funds.
- About 50 stocks, and GraniteShares notes the fund can become non-diversified purely from shifts in index weights or market caps.graniteshares.com
