Our read on FDV
BAn active, US-only dividend fund with a two-part job: own stocks already paying well that also have room to raise the payout. Cash goes out monthly rather than on the usual quarterly schedule.
The fund seeks income and long-term capital appreciation through primarily investing in high dividend-paying common stocks of U.S. issuers with potential for dividend growth.
Why people hold it
- The mandate is specific: income plus long-term appreciation from high dividend-paying US common stocks with potential for dividend growth. Yield today and payout runway, not one or the other.
- Distributions land monthly, so the income calendar lines up with the bills calendar.
- Trading is one of its strongest features: among the easier funds in its dividend peer group to move in and out of at a fair price.
- Stays home. The mandate is limited primarily to US issuers, so the income stream is not filtered through currency swings or foreign tax treatment.
Worth knowing
- The fee is 0.61%, above the typical charge in its dividend cohort, and several of the highest-graded active peers (CGDV, TDVG) run cheaper.
- Actively run with no declared index behind it, so the portfolio reflects manager judgment rather than a published rulebook you can read in advance.
- Launched in 2022, giving it a short track record next to dividend funds that have been through several full market cycles.

- −16.7%
How it’s calculated: maximum drawdown
The largest percentage decline from an earlier peak, using total returns with reinvested distributions.
