Our read on IBTQ

ETF.net Research

BOne rung of a Treasury ladder in a single ticker. It tracks an index of U.S. Treasuries maturing in 2035 and wears that end date in its name, so there's a defined finish line instead of a perpetual bond fund that rolls forever.

Stated mandate

The fund seeks to track an index of U.S. Treasury bonds that mature in 2035.

Why people hold it

  1. 01Costs 0.07% a year, below the typical target-maturity bond fund's 0.10%.
  2. 02Pure Treasury collateral. No corporate credit to underwrite, unlike the BulletShares and iBonds corporate rungs (BSCT, IBDU) that headline this category.ishares.com
  3. 03The mandate is unusually literal: one named index, ICE 2035 Maturity US Treasury, and Treasuries that mature in the year on the label. Little room for style drift.
  4. 04Pays monthly, and sits in the upper half of a crowded target-maturity field on our review.

Worth knowing

  1. 01A 2035 maturity means roughly a decade of interest-rate sensitivity. Prices can swing a lot more before that date than on the 2028 and 2029 rungs.
  2. 02Treasury yields only. The corporate versions of this ladder take credit risk in exchange for extra spread; this one doesn't.
  3. 03Launched in 2025, so the track record is thin, and it trades moderately rather than like the category's busiest names.
