Our read on each fund
AGGA
AGGAC
In short
AGG Launched in 2003, one of the first funds to pack the entire U.S. investment-grade bond market into a single ticker: Treasuries, corporates and mortgage bonds, three basis points a year, cash paid monthly.
AGGA AGGA doesn't buy bonds. It buys bond ETFs, with an active manager at Astoria shifting the mix and aiming to beat the plain vanilla aggregate index. A 2025 launch charging 0.55% for that judgment.
Stated mandate
AGG The fund seeks to track the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, providing broad exposure to the total U.S. investment-grade bond market.
AGGA The Fund seeks current income. It is actively managed and invests primarily in other U.S. fixed income ETFs to provide core fixed-income exposure while seeking to outperform broad fixed-income benchmarks.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
