Our read on each fund
AGGA
CGCBA
In short
AGG Launched in 2003, one of the first funds to pack the entire U.S. investment-grade bond market into a single ticker: Treasuries, corporates and mortgage bonds, three basis points a year, cash paid monthly.
CGCB Capital Group's core bond ETF uses the Bloomberg US Aggregate as a yardstick rather than a blueprint, and charges 0.27% to do it. The mandate is the unglamorous job bonds get hired for: diversification and capital preservation.
Stated mandate
AGG The fund seeks to track the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, providing broad exposure to the total U.S. investment-grade bond market.
CGCB The fund seeks to provide the diversification and capital-preservation benefits associated with core bonds.
