Our read on each fund
AGGA
SCCRA
In short
AGG Launched in 2003, one of the first funds to pack the entire U.S. investment-grade bond market into a single ticker: Treasuries, corporates and mortgage bonds, three basis points a year, cash paid monthly.
SCCR A 2025 arrival from Schwab: total return plus income across US dollar bonds, roughly 600 positions, 0.16% a year. That is well under half the typical core bond ETF fee, though the plain index giants still undercut it.
Stated mandate
AGG The fund seeks to track the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, providing broad exposure to the total U.S. investment-grade bond market.
SCCR The fund seeks total return while generating income by investing in U.S. dollar-denominated debt securities.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
