BETHAProShares Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF

XRPIDXRP ETF

In short

BETH Bitcoin or ether? BETH declines to choose. It holds both through futures inside a 1940 Act fund, weighted by market size, so the bigger coin gets the bigger slice and the mix reshuffles itself as the two trade places.

XRPI The first US ETF to give plain 1x XRP exposure, and it does it with CME futures rather than coins. XRP price movement in a normal brokerage account, no wallet, no keys, no crypto exchange login.

Stated mandate

BETH BETH seeks performance corresponding to a market-capitalization-weighted basket of bitcoin and ether.

XRPI The Fund aims to provide exposure to the returns of XRP by primarily investing in XRP Futures Contracts via a Cayman Islands subsidiary, and may also utilize XRP-linked ETPs and swap agreements.

Why people hold it

  • BETH Two coins, one ticker: bitcoin and ether held in market-cap proportions, so the split follows the market rather than a hand-picked ratio.proshares.com
  • Charges 0.95% a year, below the median fee in its crypto-derivative peer group.
  • Ordinary brokerage plumbing: a registered fund using futures, so there is no crypto exchange account, wallet, or direct coin custody in the picture.proshares.com
  • Runs on a monthly distribution cadence, which ProShares flags as a difference from spot crypto products.proshares.com
  • XRPI The original: launched in 2025 as the first US ETF tracking XRP futures one-to-one, before any unleveraged competitor existed.coindesk.com
  • Mechanically simple: cash-settled XRP futures on the CME, held through a Cayman subsidiary, with cash-like collateral behind them. Self-custody risk stays off your plate.sec.gov
  • Trades with reasonable activity for a crypto derivatives fund, and the collateral sleeve supports a monthly distribution schedule.

Worth knowing

  • BETH Futures, not coins. ProShares states the fund invests in futures and not directly in bitcoin and ether, so results can diverge from spot prices.proshares.com
  • A small, thinly traded fund next to the crypto ETFs that hog the volume, which can show up as wider bid-ask spreads.
  • Market-cap weighting hands bitcoin the larger share by design. Sibling fund BETE splits the two evenly at the same 0.95% fee.
  • XRPI Pioneer pricing: the fee runs well above the median for crypto derivatives ETFs, and that gap compounds against you in a flat market.
  • Futures, not coins. Rolling contracts and basis can pull results away from spot XRP, so this tracks the futures curve rather than the token itself.sec.gov
  • Young fund on a violently volatile asset. On cost and risk together it sits in the lower tier of its crypto derivatives peer group.
