DFIIC
In short
CEPI Crypto exposure without the coins. CEPI owns a basket of miners, exchanges and digital-payment stocks, then sells options against them for income, so the sector's volatility becomes the fuel for the premium.
DFII A bitcoin income fund that never owns a coin. First Trust's Vest team sells options on bitcoin ETPs to fund a monthly payout targeted 15% above one-month Treasury rates, trading away part of bitcoin's upside for cash flow.
Stated mandate
CEPI The fund seeks current income and capital appreciation, while targeting most of the returns of the S&P 500 Total Return Index with lower volatility and additional income.
DFII The Fund seeks partial participation in bitcoin returns while generating a high level of income. It uses options referencing Bitcoin Exposure Instruments rather than investing directly in bitcoin.
