Our read on each fund
FDFFB
FINXC
In short
FDFF Fidelity's stock-picker take on fintech: roughly 50 hand-chosen names in payments, lending and financial software, at the lowest fee in its fintech peer group. Small and thinly traded, but the mandate is clear and the price tag is light.
FINX A 2016-vintage fintech fund that still does it the original way: an index-tracked, global basket of roughly 70 companies digitizing payments, lending, insurance and investing. Wider than a US card-network play, and rules-based rather than a stock picker's list.
Stated mandate
FDFF The fund seeks long-term growth of capital and normally invests at least 80% of its assets in securities of disruptive finance companies.
FINX The fund seeks exposure to companies at the forefront of financial-technology innovation, including businesses transforming insurance, investing, fundraising, and third-party lending through mobile and digital solutions.
