Our read on each fund
HYLBA
SIHYB
In short
HYLB Broad-market junk bonds at index-fund pricing: 0.05% a year, a fraction of what the typical high-yield bond ETF charges, spread across roughly 1,300 issues. Running since 2016, it pays monthly.
SIHY Most high yield ETFs just clone the index. SIHY hands the junk bond picking to a machine: Ares Systematic Credit runs a model-driven process across roughly 300 below-investment-grade bonds, and pays monthly.
Stated mandate
HYLB The fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Solactive USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index. It uses a passive representative-sampling indexing approach.
SIHY The ETF commits at least 80% of its net assets, plus investment-purpose borrowings, to below-investment-grade corporate bonds or equivalent unrated securities; derivatives may represent those investments.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
