SEIVASEI QiM U.S. Large Cap Value Active ETF

In short

LCF A 25-to-45-stock book built on one idea: durable moats trading below their intrinsic value. Fort Washington runs it, non-diversified by design, at 0.56% net of a waiver through April 29, 2027.

SEIV Active quant value stock-picking at an index-fund price. SEIV screens U.S. large caps for cheap valuations plus quality, momentum and low volatility, then runs a concentrated book of roughly 80 names for 0.15% a year.

Stated mandate

LCF The Fund seeks capital appreciation through an actively managed portfolio of U.S. companies selected for attractive intrinsic value and durable competitive advantages.

SEIV The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through primarily U.S. common stocks priced below fundamental valuation measures, using a quantitative, active stock-selection approach.

Why people hold it

  • LCF The filter is specific: businesses trading below Fort Washington's estimate of intrinsic value with real barriers to entry (scale, customer loyalty, cost edge, a license).sec.gov
  • Genuinely concentrated. Generally 25 to 45 companies with cash held under 10% of assets, so individual picks actually move the portfolio.sec.gov
  • Since its 2022 launch it has stayed in its stated lane: US large caps bought on valuation, no drift into whatever is hot.
  • SEIV 0.15% a year for genuine active selection, against a 0.55% median in its U.S. value peer group. It matches the cheapest large-value quant funds rather than charging active prices.
  • Value is not the only screen. The model also weighs quality, momentum and low volatility, which is how a cheap-stock strategy tries to avoid the cheap-for-a-reason trap.
  • Other funds measured against the S&P 500 in this cohort charge far more (LSVD 0.40%, GSPY 0.50%, VNSE 1.34%). SEIV runs its version at 0.15%.
  • Sits among the strongest implementations in a crowded U.S. value field, and trades with enough regular activity to be workable for ordinary retail order sizes.

Worth knowing

  • LCF 0.56% net of a waiver through April 29, 2027 (1.18% gross) sits near the category norm, but rules-based peers like WTV at 0.12% and AVLV at 0.15% cost far less.
  • Non-diversified cuts both ways: a stumble in one of a few dozen names lands harder here than in a 500-stock index fund.sec.gov
  • One of the smaller, more thinly traded funds in its category, so spreads can be wide. Limit orders are the standard tool.
  • SEIV About 80 stocks measured against a 500-name benchmark. That concentration means stretches where it looks nothing like the S&P 500, in either direction.
  • Launched in 2022, so the live record is short, and the asset base is mid-sized rather than among the giants of the value aisle.
  • You get the factor recipe, not the trade-by-trade logic: selection sits inside a quantitative model. Distributions land quarterly, not monthly.

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
