Our read on ELM

ETF.net Research

BOne ticker for the whole market map: stocks, bonds, real estate and cash, US through emerging, reshuffled by rule instead of hunch. And it charges a fraction of what the typical allocation fund does.

Stated mandate

The Fund is an actively managed fund of funds using a rules-based asset-allocation process to dynamically invest across equity, fixed-income, real-estate, and cash-related markets.

Why people hold it

  1. 01At 0.26% a year, it runs at about a third of the typical multi-asset allocation fund's 0.78% median. Index-fund pricing on an actively managed portfolio.
  2. 02One buy covers equity, fixed income, real estate and cash across US, developed international and emerging markets. No sleeve-by-sleeve assembly required.
  3. 03Allocation moves follow a written, rules-based process rather than a manager's gut call, so the fund's behavior is easier to explain than a discretionary tactical strategy.
  4. 04Costs land among the strongest marks in its allocation peer group, where fees of three quarters of a percent are the norm.

Worth knowing

  1. 01Launched in 2025. The record is short, and the strategy has not yet been tested across a full market cycle.
  2. 02Trading is thin relative to the category's giants, so spreads can be wider and larger orders can push the price around.
  3. 03Cash flow comes once or twice a year rather than monthly, so this is not built as a steady income drip.
